Election Reflection

I think the impact of the youth vote was very large in this election. This year there are more students and therefore more potential student voters than ever before. I think that because times change, and the fact that students are generally more independent to begin with there votes are unpredictable and important. Students are also more easily influenced by the media such as SNL and campaign ads in general. So because students are abundant, that makes their vote as well as the media very important in this election.

I think that the global perception of our nation has changed as a result of this election. After all, it should- President elect Obama has made history, and hopefully the rest of the world will have even more respect for us.

I also hope that goes for the republican party as well. I think that this is a huge opportunity for the Democrats to show the republicans and all their supporters what they can do. The democrats have control of the House and Senate, so if we don't really improve things I think it could really hurt the democrats in elections to come. Of course I don't think that will happen. I think the Democrats will do a fine job, and hopefully sway the country to the liberal side.

There were not many blogs about the presidential election, they were all about the elections and the house and the senate. The only one that even mentioned Obama's name, said that many democratic candidates for the House benifited from Obama's victory. I think that is a good thing, and I am not surprised that it happened. Now I just hope that the democrats do not let this wonderful opportunity go to waste.
