John Mccain Ads:
1. I thought this was a brilliant ad. It used many techniques, but simply. It used testimonial, by haveing Obama praies his bewis. It used transfer, with Obama being the positive symbol, to make Mccain look gook. Finally, it uses bandwagon, by showing that Obama has the same opinions.
2. This ad used the plain follks technique. It said that Mccain supported the average working Joes. It also used mudslinging, with the attacks on Obama. The third technique it uses is contrast. It portrays the views of each candidate consecutively, positive for Mccain, and negative ofr obama.
3. This was definitely an attack ad. Along with mudslinging, it used transfer as well. It used the negative symbol of Biden to create a negative affect on Obama's campaign.
4. This was a positive ad. It used transfer, and glittering generalities, both were used on Mccain and Palin.
Obama Ads
1. This ad about education mainly used the transfer technique. Education was the popular symbol, and Obama portrayed it as important, and that he would improve it.
2. This ad was pure mudslinging. It was only meant to attack John Mccain.
3. The main technique used in this ad was plain folks. I thought it was meant to appeal to the voters, to tell them they were what this election is about, and to vote early.
4. This ad used a combination of a few different techniques. At first it classified as a card-stacking ad with the use of statistics, then it used the transfer technique by mentioning how bad unemployment was, then more mudslinging by attacking John Mccain.
I thought based on these ads I watched there was a lot of variety, which surprised me, because I mostly remember hearing attack ads, and being sick of it. That is usually typical of both parties, but I thought Obama was above that.
