Three of the main issues talked about were the economy, foreign policy, and energy plans.
The main issues dealing with the economy were the bailout and taxes. Both Biden and Palin avoided answering the question about the bailout, and I think Biden and Obama's tax plan was better than the opposition's. Mccain/Palin want to lower taxes for all. This may seem like a good idea at first, but how is the government going to make money. Obama/Biden want to raise taxes for the rich and lower them for the poor. This makes perfect sense to begin with, and the government needs more money to repay the debt that Bush has put us in. This brings us to the next main issue.
Foreign policy was mainly discussed in terms of the war in Iraq. Mccain/Palin have no intention or plan of bringing us out of Iraq, and this is the biggest factor in running up our budget. Obama/Biden want to pull us out as quickly as possible. Problems will occur when we pull out no matter what, and since we are spending loads of unnecessary money in Iraq, the sooner the better.
In the energy section of the debate, the candidates discussed climate change and alternative energy. Both candidates had decent ideas, however Biden presented his better, which helped his case even more, even though he did not need it.
I think Senator Biden won this debate. Governor Palin did better than I expected but not as well as Biden. Also, Biden was holding back, and trying not to attack her, which is not like his character to do so. I thought Palin had her voice going for her, but her presentation lacked experience. Biden had a better presentation, and better ideas to begin with, so that gave him the edge.
